Summary 0000013: Reset/decay people's credits!
Description I am concerned that a lot of people are amassing hundreds or even thousands of credits in one big splurge and then ceasing to contribute new intel for the target finder.

I have two suggestions to deal with this:

1. Reset everyone's credits for each server to 0 at the beginning of each age.
2. Credit decay- halve everyone's credits every 24 hours, or even divide by four. This should ensure that people contribute regularly, keeping fresh data.

I agree with the reset point. However, the decay you suggest seems kind of sever to me. Anytime I see exponential decay it scares me a bit. But it's probably alright. Just maybe start off with something else, like every 24 hrs multiple by 80%.

So I have about 10k credits and everytime I do a search I only ask for 10 results. I do about 3 searches every 24hrs and send 3 groups of 50. Thus it is getting kind of out of hand.

You guys are definitely right
I forsaw this problem at the beginning but I wasn't sure what to do about it.
Decay is a very good idea just to stop ppl amassing huge credits.
I'll start it off at 80% a day, I'll need some feedback to see how that is.

*creates more work for Dengar* :)

Well, people seldom need more than a hundred credits at once- I would suggest making people's credits beyond the first hundred decay at 50% per day, and at 20% per day or so if people have 100 or fewer credits.

Alright here's what it does
All credits from 1-100 are reduced by 20%
All credits above 100 are reduced by 50%

Example:
110 credits -> 80 + 5 = 85

Tell me how this seems, and confirm that your credits do actually decay over the next couple days

This is working as planned- I think people are submitting slightly more intel than before, too! Thanks for implementing it.

It might be worth turning off the decay for the first week each age, so that people have an incentive to fill the database, but otherwise it's fine as it is.

I used to run a macro that got 100% of the KDs on WoL in about 30 minutes, and 100% for Genesis in about 15. I amassed thousands of credits. I think this system is quite good, though I think you should make it staggered so that people with more credits (like me) get more decay, though it's not really necessary if it's too much work.

I agree that decay should happen. I also agree that in a new age it should be reset to 0. However, I think that a minimum number of credits should be "decay proof" say 20... IE when you get down to 20 credits, no more decay.
